The design is created
After the initial consultation, you will meet with one of Dream Home Construction’s skilled designers to nail down the project plans. At this meeting, we will provide you with a mood board, go over the color selection, and begin to finalize what your new space will really look like. This is the step where most of the significant tweaks and changes occur. And say goodbye to imagining what everything will look like because you’ll receive a 3D rendition of your new space!

Choose cabinetry style, color, and features
Now that the ideas, themes, and layout have been decided, it is time to start selecting your materials. This is one of our favorite parts of the process– after all, the details make the design! Choosing cabinetry is an integral part of the process because each future material decision is layered upon the last to ensure every surface is visually complementary.
You have three options when it comes to cabinetry: all have high quality, plywood construction, but differ in the level of customization.
Stock: The most basic option offers a budget-friendly way to achieve a beautiful and functional space. There are a variety of stock cabinets around but they come in set sizes and colors and have limited features. They also often require space fillers to fit the dimensions of your room.
Semi-custom: These cabinets offer almost endless choices. Semi-custom cabinets provide increased color, feature, and size options but still utilize space fillers. If you are looking for a fully custom option, whether you want to match your family’s unique storage needs or have a specific color in mind, the next step up is your best option.
Custom: These are the best choice for a fully customized space because at this level, we can customize every color, space, corner, height, and feature to fit your dream design perfectly. These cabinets do not utilize space fillers and custom built to the size of the space and provide the most seamless and custom look.

Choose countertop material to complement cabinetry and appliances

The design continues to layer, with each decision complimenting the last and one of our final steps is selecting your backsplash. Typically backsplashes are comprised of either tile or stone. But they can also be made from the same material as your countertop to create a seamless look. Whatever your preference, during this step, we will invite you to our expansive showroom to explore the material options and find the perfect tile to compliment your cabinetry, appliances, and countertops. With our experienced designers’ help, you will choose the material, style, color, and grout best fit to your project.

Choose durable and beautiful flooring
With almost all the details in place, the final step is the flooring. Since kitchens and bathrooms are naturally high-traffic areas, it is essential to select a durable floor that can stand up to spills, dirt, and scratches 24/7!
If you currently have a hardwood floor, the first decision you will make with our designers is if you wish to refinish the existing floor. If so, we can help you find the perfect stain and seal for the design. If you are replacing the floor entirely, it is now time to decide between hardwood, high-quality composite, vinyl, or tile.
